Who are you and why are you doing this?
My name is Jeff Chausse. I'm a product designer with over 15 years experience in both hands-on and managerial design leadership roles. I was also a software engineer for over 10 years in my early career. The recent rise of AI-powered development tools reignited my passion for building software — and unified both phases of my career into what I hope to be an exciting new path forward.
Everyone says "designers delivering code" is the future of product design, but I've already been living in this world for over a year, most recently as contract Head of Design at Skillcraft, a startup focused on ROI-connected skill assessment. I also designed, built, and launched Trésora, a fully commercialized cross-platform native mobile app for Apple and Android platforms. Trésora is a companion app for thrifting, vintage, and antique enthusiasts, inspired by my wife's passion for collecting rare vintage glassware. I also publish a newsletter called The AI-Accelerated Designer, which is about this new type of design work.
I'm doing this because I'm looking for a full-time role bringing this new model of design to a forward-thinking organization and seeking to attract attention. Rapidly building apps for free demonstrates my dedication and capabilities, gives me case studies and topics for my newsletter, and connects me with people in organizations which are at least curious about this type of AI-accelerated design and development. It's a win-win all around. And it beats spending all day pointlessly submitting résumés that just get rejected by automated systems.
